About Kagimu Brian Vicent

I am a devoted family man; a father, husband, son, and brother and a loyal friend. Professionally, I am a Computer Engineer, Social Entrepreneur, and Occupational Safety Inspector at the Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development in Uganda. My work operates at the intersection of technology, public policy, and social impact.

Academic Foundation

My journey began at Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST), where I earned my Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering in 2016. This foundation in both hardware and software systems provided me with the technical toolkit required to address complex, real-world challenges.

I was subsequently honoured to receive the prestigious KOICA CIAT Scholarship, which enabled me to pursue a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Social Entrepreneurship (2021) at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), one of Asia's leading universities. This experience immersed me in cutting-edge research regarding AI and technology policy, while deepening my understanding of how innovation can drive sustainable development.

Public Service & Safety Leadership

In my current role as an Occupational Safety Inspector, I am responsible for conducting workplace safety inspections, leading accident investigations, and delivering essential training. I play a key role in enforcing the OSH Act (Cap 231) of Uganda to ensure safer working environments for all. My expertise in this field is further supported by a NEBOSH International General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (2025).

Technology & Social Impact

Beyond my public service, I am passionate about utilising technology for the greater good. my core areas of expertise include:

  • Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning
  • Data Science
  • Social Entrepreneurship

I firmly believe that technology, when guided by ethical principles and human-centred design, can be a powerful catalyst for equity and opportunity.

Personal Commitment

I am driven by a fundamental desire to bridge the gap between technological innovation and public service. I am committed to continuous learning, collaborative problem-solving, and developing solutions that serve the needs of communities across Uganda and the wider African continent.

I invite you to connect with me as we explore how we can work together to build a safer, smarter future.
